Jump Start Your Healthy Heart

Do you or someone you love have high blood pressure?  Did you know that high blood pressure is considered to be a silent killer?  Because there are often no symptoms of having high blood pressure, damage can go undetected if you don’t check your blood pressure and take your medication as prescribed.

Call 1-888-795-6810 to enroll in the ChooseWell Healthy Heart Program. You’ll learn how to adjust your diet by using the DASH program. (Dietary Alternatives in Stopping Hypertension). You’ll receive free health coaching by a registered nurse, copayment waivers for select generic blood pressure medications, a free blood pressure monitor and other education materials.

Having high blood pressure puts you at risk for heart disease and stroke, the first and third leading causes of death in the United States. The facts:

• High blood pressure was a primary or contributing cause of death for 326,000 Americans in 2006.
• High blood pressure usually has no warning signs or symptoms, so many people don't realize they have it.
• About one out of three U.S. adults—31.3%—has high blood pressure.
• About one in four American adults has prehypertension—blood pressure measurements that are higher than normal, but not yet in the high blood pressure range. You are at risk of high blood pressure if your readings are between 120/80 and 140/90. You are considered to have high blood pressure if your reading is over 140/90.

Join today. It could save your life or the life of someone you love.
