Interim Executive Director Gary Green
Gary Greene is serving for the second time as interim executive director of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. He first served in this capacity from 2010-2011, and returned to the role in June 2013. Greene also serves as the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute’s treasurer and chief financial officer.
Greene was named treasurer and CFO upon the establishment of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute in 2005. He had previously served in finance and administration positions at Winrock International and the Winthrop Rockefeller Livestock Research and Training Center, both previous occupants of the facility that now houses the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. Before coming to Petit Jean Mountain to work for the Winthrop Rockefeller Livestock Research and Training Center in 1979, Greene was executive director of the Student Loan Guarantee Foundation of Arkansas. He still serves on the board of that foundation today.
A longtime resident of Conway, Greene served on the Conway Planning Commission and Board of Adjustments in the early 1980s. He then served on the Conway School Board for 18 years, ending his time of service on that board in 2006.
Greene holds a bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Arkansas. He is married with two children and three grandchildren.
